Cervical Disc Herniation
Q. Can I check for a cervical disc at home?
A.
If two or more of the items below apply, we would suggest having it checked.
📝 Detailed Answer
- Seen from the side, the neck sits forward
- The neck hurts continuously
- The muscles of the two arms differ in size (one has thinned)
- There is numbness in an arm or hand
- The arm cramps often
- Grip strength in the fingers has weakened
- Headaches come on often
- There is nervous irritability, fatigue, disturbed sleep or eye pain
Two or more of these is reason to suspect a cervical disc. This list is grounds for suspicion, though, not a diagnosis.
